Frequently Asked Questions
How does this work?
We merge split Strava activities (runs or rides) by intelligently interpolating GPS data between gaps. All processing happens directly in your browser. Your activity data never touches our servers.
Where is my data stored?
We don't store your data. Period. Your activity data only exists in two places: your browser (temporarily while you're using the app) and Strava (when you choose to upload the merged activity). Once you close the browser tab, all data is cleared. We collect minimal anonymous usage metrics (like merge counts) but no GPS coordinates, activity details, or personal information ever reaches our servers.
What Strava permissions do you need?
We request read and write permissions for your activities. Read access lets us fetch your recent activities to identify potential splits. Write access enables uploading the merged activity back to Strava and optionally hiding the original split activities (they're never deleted, just hidden).
Will merging affect my Strava segments and PRs?
Merged activities contain interpolated GPS points in the gap areas. Strava will process these according to their segment matching rules. The merged activity description includes a note about the interpolated data for transparency. We don't manipulate segment data - Strava handles all leaderboard matching.
Can I use this without connecting to Strava?
Absolutely! Upload GPX files directly and merge them without logging in. After merging, download the combined GPX file and manually upload it to Strava or any other platform.
What happens to my original activities?
When you merge activities, you can choose to hide the original split activities on Strava. They're never deleted - they remain in your account but are hidden from your profile. You can always unhide them later through Strava's settings.
Is this free?
Yes, completely free to use. We may display non-intrusive ads to support hosting costs.
How do I add waypoints for accurate routing?
In the merge editor, click on the map between the gap to add waypoints. The interpolation will route through these points, allowing you to create an accurate path that matches the route you actually took.
